Enjoying nature in Kozagawa
The limpid Kozagawa River is extremely transparent and is lively with ayu fishing and people playing in the water in the summer. There are crescent-shaped dykes in the Kozagawa River such as the Ichimai-iwa rock, the Mushikui-iwa rock, Taki-no-hai Falls, and the Botan-iwa rock, geosites in the Nanki-Kumano Geopark. Sakura blossoms are an attraction on the shores of Shichikawa Dam Lake, where they are in full bloom in the spring. Enjoying events in Kozagawa
In the spring, it is a Kozagawa Cherry Blossom Festival, where about 3,000 cherry trees bloom on the shores of Shichikawa Dam Lake. In the summer, it is a Kouchi Festival organized by five districts located along the Kozagawa River. In the fall, it is a fire festival held at Takaike Kobe Shrine, which is right next to the Yamasakiya Ryokan. These are events that are integrated with the unique nature along the Kozagawa River.
Access
Go straight along Prefectural Road 228 toward the Kozagawa Town Office. There is a parking lot and a driveway along the road in front of the Gomeisha building. Enter Prefectural Road 228 from the national route, go straight without turning, and drive about 300 m beyond the Okuwa Kozagawa store. There is a parking lot on the left side along Prefectural Road 228.
